Very nice demo. It would be helpful to keep the logo of the current pickup on screen. And if you have a good video editing program, you could 'interleave' the V60 vs V60LP segments. IOW, V60 neck clean, then V60LP neck clean, etc. By the time I got to the clean tones for the V60LP, I no longer had the V60 reference in mind, cause the last thing I had heard was the distorted clips for the V60's. Anyway, the V60LP set seemed sweeter, balanced, and less aggressive than the V60's.

I just bought a pre-wired Eric Johnson pick guard for my 40th Anniversary Squier Strat can't wait to install them!

I'm leaning towards the fat 50's, although I can't seem to tell the difference between them and the Texas specials.

Hi Drew. I love this demo. I am a tele player and have really been wanting to get a strat again. I play country and soft rock/classic rock. I mostly play clean or with light overdrive but I also like to crank the distortion from time to time. Would this be a good choice puckup or might you suggest another?

Although, they sound similar, Fender's are Fender's. There's a slight recognizable tone change.

hi on the 2 pos useing the at-1 area 61 mid does the at-1 split if so does it hum being split?did you split the middle pickup at all?or was it full humbucker mid and full humbucker bridge?

I have a 7 string SG that has had PAF 59 7 and Super Distortion 7 put in it. I love both pickups very much, but the Super Distortion is quite a bit louder then the PAF. In a 7 string it's a bit like a Tony Iommi pickup actually, a bit hard to control, as much as I love it. If I had a PAF PRO 7 in the bridge instead of normal PAF 7 would the volume be more even between the two pickups? if i cant improve the situation its not the end of the world. still sounds great. there's a real sweetspot for tone when both pickups are active at once. Ive never had anything like it before. closest thing was my Gibson Tony Iommi humbuckers, except these are more uneven, yet vastly easier to control.

Appreciate this comparison. Trying to find a good neck pickup match for a Super 3. These vids definitely help.

That is a really nice looking 7 string you got there and and this makes for a really great lesson! I like watching these videos when I can't play guitar as I can still learn things from it. I want to buy a UV guitar but they're so expensive, like $2000~+ or more, do you think it's playability matches it's price tag?

PAF 7 sound more single coilish with stronger attack. I liked it more. I never heard about PAF Pro 7. No such pickup on DiMarzio's official web page. Is it custom shop?

pickups really depend on how you set the trussrod, string action, nut action, etc..most of them might sound good or might choke and sound "boxy" depending on the overall setup...

You are good no matter which one you choose. If you are new to Money Pit game and looking to upgrade, I would suggest Dimarzio Super Distortion / PAF (dp103) or Emg 81 / 60, Duncan Custom (sh-5 / tb-5) / Jazz model. These pickup combinations are very versatile.

Sounds so nice. You mentioned porcupine tree in the description, I always wondered what pickups SW had in that ESP strat he used back then. The clean tones on Sky Moved Sideways are soooo nice.

EJ's for the win. Now, what I'd really like to hear is an EJ strat wired the way he does it, and then compare that to a set of Fralin vintage hot's with the baseplate on the bridge pickup. That's what I have and I swear they are pure magic. I'd put them up against any pickup set.

This is how comparisons should be done: No talking, consistent playing. Thank you. I have a strat with Fat 50s and a strat with Texas Special. Spot on, clean and thorough representation of both. And I like each, BTW. Eric one day, Stevie the next. There are no bests, just music.

How is the rest of the bridge holding up where the string pinches at the blocks? I was thinking the hardness of the titanium pushing the string and denting the bridge instead of the blocks. This video should be old enough to see the wear.
